1963 Allied Seawind, fully restored, new engine, rigging, dink, many extras

This prime example of an Allied Seawind needs nothing. A list of upgrades is below, she is turn-key ready to cross an ocean.

To those who are familiar with the model, she needs no introduction. Pi is a 1964 Allied Seawind, a proven blue water cruising sailboat. Alan Eddy was the first person to circumnavigate in a fiberglass boat and did so on a Seawind, hull number 11. Owners boat is hull 42, and there have been countless other Seawinds that have completed multiple circumnavigations.

She was built in Catskill, NY out of 1" thick hand-laid fiberglass and has a full, encapsulated keel with 4,200 lbs of poured lead for ballast. The ketch rig is easy to sail and well balanced even in the stiffest breeze.

I purchased the boat five years ago in Rhode Island where he started the restoration. He sailed her to Florida 3 years ago and has since completed her. Have cruised the Keys and Cuba, and now family and life issues force the sale.

Here is a list of all work completed, and equipment onboard:

New Beta 25 diesel, about 100 hours (2016)
All new stainless rigging, both main and mizzen (2016)
Bottom, topsides, deck and interior paint (2016)

13 lb Fortress kedge anchor with 10' of " chain and 200' of " line
All new interior cushions on settee bunks and v-berth (2016)
Jabsco toilet with y-valve, holding tank and pump-out fitting (2013)
Sink with salt water faucet (2013)

Hello, looks great. Question. If you don't mind answering. I see some sailboats revived/redone and then put up for sale. Curious why you did all this and are selling ? Sorry I didn't read your whole listing if answer is already enclosed.

Family and health issues, unfortunately. I'll probably buy a smaller boat, on a trailer, to mess around with locally, but for now distance cruising is not a possibility and the money would go far.
