This prime example of an
Allied Seawind needs nothing. A list of upgrades is below, she is turn-key ready to cross an ocean.
To those who are familiar with the model, she needs no
introduction. Pi is a 1964
Allied Seawind, a proven
blue water cruising sailboat. Alan Eddy was the first person to circumnavigate in a
fiberglass boat and did so on a Seawind,
hull number 11. Owners
boat is
hull 42, and there have been countless other Seawinds that have completed multiple circumnavigations.
She was built in Catskill, NY out of 1" thick hand-laid
fiberglass and has a full, encapsulated
keel with 4,200 lbs of poured lead for ballast. The
ketch rig is easy to sail and well balanced even in the stiffest breeze.
I purchased the boat five years ago in
Rhode Island where he started the
restoration. He sailed her to
Florida 3 years ago and has since completed her. Have cruised the Keys and
Cuba, and now
family and life issues force the
sale.
