Robertson & Caine, Leopard, Moorings

Hi, could someone please explain to me what these names represent. I guess it is the same yachts under different names?

From their webpage:

“In the 20-year relationship the South African yard has enjoyed with Tui Marine - which encompasses the two largest yacht charter companies in the world, The Moorings and Sunsail - it has supplied more than 1300 catamarans. The advances in design of the different models have seen the catamarans winning numerous international awards.”

Has Both Sunsail and Moorings produces their own yachts before joining Leopard or has it always been Leopards?

Please help me get this.

Best Regards

Re: Robertson & Caine, Leopard, Moorings

TUI Marine is the parent company of both Moorings & Sunsail (two of the largest charter companies on the planet).

Roberts & Caine are yacht designers/builders in S Africa.

Leopard is R&C's flagship brand. They are designed & built exclusively for TUI for use in their charter fleets.

These boats are sold to private owners and managed by TUI. Typically they spend 5 years in the Moorings fleet and are then either sold, taken posession of by owner, or moved on to a B or C fleet like Sunsail or one of several other smaller charter fleets.

Re: Robertson & Caine, Leopard, Moorings

My apologies to correct you. TUI is history, currently THL marine owns both Moorings and Sunsail. And if you purchase a Leopard you sign with THL marine too. It seems that they own the shipbuilder but at least the sales organisation.
