Leopard 48, 4 cabin, washing machine location

Anyone have an idea where to locate a washing machine on a 4 cabin Leopard 48?

Thanks in advance.

WE use the Starboard forward shower. We plumbed into, behind the door. So we need to have the door open, and the waste pipe hooked into the sink. Does the job, but could be done more professionally. We don't want to make too many structural changes, so ours is a semi portable unit, just sitting on the shower floor.

I've seen some people put it under the nav station. You would need to remove the seat, but the picts I've seen look nice.

Interesting. I see the idea, however, that is my most used seat in the boat, so I will have to pass on that one!

As an L48 owner, I've struggled thinking about the options, but have not yet done anything. The best thought I've come up with is to install a washer on the STBD bench in the Aft cockpit. This bench is the least useful place on the boat as ever nobody uses it. To protect the washer from sea spray, add a canvas window wall on that side.

Re: Leopard 48, 4 cabin, washing machine location

old thread but I'll chime in.

We put a full size washer in the port forward cabin on a shelf I built about waist high, just forward of the bulkhead. It doesn't cover the bed area, but would make it harder to get out of that side. (We sleep on that side and use that cabin for storage anyway) It was a bit of a mission to get it in, I had to take the door frame off of the door to the forward cabin, but it is a nice place to have the washer.

Have you seen this:

The fundamental difference between this and previous combo solutions is this does not use heat to dry and requires no dryer vent. It extracts the water from the wash using dehumidification.

That One and Done unit seems to be a totally awesome, with 4.8 Cu. Ft. capacity, but it's huge at 28" W x 32"D x 46.7" H. Where could you possibly fit that on a four-cabin boat? It's too big to fit down the stairs, so it would have to be somewhere on the main deck. Have you solved the conundrum?

This is the first of its kind. Expect more, perhaps smaller to come
