What is up with inflation on these things? The base price here is like 30k higher than just 3 years ago. That is way outside the rate of inflation. At this rate, I won't be able to afford one in a few years when I retire.

And the price of some of these options are insane. 23k for a watermaker??? If you look for one on your own, the most expensive ones cost about 8k!

I just got confirmation from Leopard Catamarans Florida office that the Leopard 39 posted above has Yanmar SD60 sail drives which is the replacement for the defective Yanmar SD50 sail drives

Insane options pricing. And many of those "options" should surely be standard. Seems like you could save a lot of money by buying it at base and then handling all the upgrades yourself.

My wife and I are trying to decide between a Leopard 39 and Lipari 41. And options prices ARE ridiculous in many instances (it must be that the builder doesn't want to disrupt the production line, but will do so for extortionary prices).

OTOH, Leopard includes a number of things in the base price that FP charges for: holding tanks, helm bimini, salon hatches, and automatic switches for bilge pumps! And many of their options are overpriced, but it could be because of the strong Euro-to-USD exchange rate.

I think you will find that the 29HP Yanmar's come with the SD20 saildrive. The SD50's are fitted to the 39hp engines and larger.
