Its just part of the wider picture... Oz doesn't present a welcoming face to cruisers.... drop the fee and maybe another 2 or 3 hundred would turn up... each dropping $20k plus directly into the oz economy during their 12 months stay...
unlike the japanese golfers frinstance... fly in on a japanese airline, stay at a japanese owned golf resort... fly out 7 days latert.... benefit to Oz economy? four fifths of not very much.....

No ... was just sitting at Auk aeropuerto looking at the trash bins with the big 'No Spitting ' signs on them... just something I associate with asia and asian airlines is all....
Re the spraying of the aircraft prior to embarkation.. I think that's called fumigation ... pretty much SOP everywhere.
We are all probably more at risk from all the chemicals we have and use in our homes.

Re: Yet Another Fee Hike in Oz
So to get this right, people have been traveling to Australia for thousands of years by boat without charges or quarantine.
Recently, the uk sent their rejects to australia. These people selfishly destroyed most of the forests and caused the extinction of countless species. Today they cause more pollution per person than anyone else in the world. Further, they decided that australia is now off limits to anyone who doesn't have more money than 99% of the people on the world. Finally, they impose all sorts of restrictions on importing species that are only due to their own prior mistakes and because of their ridiculously wasteful and inefficient agricultural system which relies on fossil fuels (If you have less than 50 types of plants per acre your system is not sustainable)
Why is this country full of criminals allowed to continue? Maybe it is time after all to take individual action.
I will keep in mind, maybe I can take a canoe to australia if I want a free ride home.

Those poms actually sent their best folk out here - they just didn't realize it at the time - and while we have stuffed up a couple of things, we haven't stuffed up as much as the other mobs - prolly due to our vegemite high intake.

As a visitor and planning to leave in 12 months - was $350, now $380 (if the OP's info is correct).
So maybe you will drop $20K getting across the Pacific and then a another $20K while you are here but I get some of you can't budget for the $380

Just curious, who is allowing them to continue? Do you have some kind of a country up your sleeve with a large military and are considering an invasion?
I know, I'm in a mood, but maybe in this instance rather than not allowing the Australians to continue we can either pay the $380.00 or choose not to.

So $380 is the total fees, thought this was just the inspection fee,
isn't there other fees?

Back to serious programming for a moment
AFAIK, there is only the AQIS inspection fee - if there are other costs, maybe someone else can elaborate.
If you plan to stay longer than 12 months, there are other costs and they can add up. In essence, you have to import your vessel and pay taxes / fees and so on. Again others will better info on this aspect.
But for the visitor, you only pay the AQIS costs. We chuck in the immigration and Customs for free - like other places do
Oh and we do it with a smile and some friendly conversation (usually) -

Dude - Get a grip FFS. This post is a bit over the top, isn't it...
Presuming you are a westerner WTF are you doing in the Philippines? Maybe you should go home to where you came from.
And if you are a Yank that doesn't mean the USA cuz you are an immigrant there, too.
Unless you are a Brit and then I understand. Must be so disheartening to have lost the empire. But hey, get over it...
Oh... And you'd have to be daft to not see what a unique ecological system Australia is regardless of the errors af anyone's forefathers.
Just because sheep and lamb were imported a few hundred years ago does that mean they should let everything in today? How about Ebola FFS?

No other direct fees, but IF they should find evidence of termites with the visual inspection, then further investigation is required. This can involve "hiring" a sniffer dog and his man and can cost in the neighborhood of a kilobuck, depending on where you are. Should the dog think that there really are termites, then fumigation is required, and that can cost multiple kilobucks.
The benefit is that termites can really do damage to your boat, so getting rid of them is a good idea.
If you want visas that last more than the typical e-visa, there are significant costs involved. A look at the immigration dept. website will guide you in this... it is pretty complicated, and the rules change over time... sometimes frequently!
It is a splendid place to bring your selves and your boat... it just ain't cheap!
