What's the story with San Juan del Sur these days?

Hi all,
We're considering spending a few months anchored at SJdS, Nicaragua during rainy season, but the information I've found so far makes it sound like a tenuous proposition. Can anyone with current or first-hand information tell me what the deal is with fees (is it true that there's a $50/mo fee for anchoring) and how long we can keep the boat there before importation-related fees and bureaucracy kick in (the last from Noonsite indicates that after 30 days you have to leave or import)? We're hoping to be there from June until November or whenever we feel it's time to move on.

Thanks!
