Western/Northern European trips

Hi,

I might buy a 22ft Trotter-Pandora (been told it's a very seaworthy boat) as a starters boat which I'll be using to sail the Belgian coast. Finally made up my mind after a year of doubt and changes in preferences. [emoji12] I'll be daysailing in my first year to gain experience and follow more sailing courses (also navigation courses).

Now my main question is:
"What are beautiful destinations/trips in Western & Northern Europe?"
Side question:
"What are your thoughts on the Trotter-Pandora? "

I am just curious where I might sail to in my second year. And I thought it would be interesting to hear some alternative trips to the exotic Bahamas,...

Re: Western/Northern European trips

Hi,

If you are in Belgium, you can have a nice and easy trip along the coast to Denmark, there cross thru the Danish waterway and sail onwards to Bohuslan/Sweden West Coats. Sail up all the way to Oslo, sail back.

Timing June/July.

This would give you some awesome scenery and plenty of time to trim and adjust the boat to coastal cruising needs.

Bahamas is sort of far away.

Make sure the rudder and all its fittings are 100% up to the job. These are vulnerable in this design.

Have fun!

Re: Western/Northern European trips

Alright sounds like a nice trip and the timing is ideal as well.
Thanks for the tips on the Trotter as well.
And I know the Bahamas are far away, although some Trotters have crossed the Atlantic those are not my intentions. I meant that there were a lot of stories about far away exotic destinations, but there aren't that many about the 'colder' trips on the European seas.

Brittany! Beautiful coast north and south, and hard core tides so might be a few early starts to catch the tide but you'll learn loads!

Ah yes I have some nice childhood memories from there! Should be interesting with the tide as well.
And I like the local cuisine as well. Fresh fish with a bottle of wine, I won't say no to that either. [emoji1]
