Now that you are safe and sound, where, or did you check in or out?

Re: Sailing from Rio Dolce Guatemala to the Blue Hole Belize and Utila Honduras
Hi Ada and contributors,
RD is on my list myself ans a friend may want to park
His tri there for cheap storage and jump off point to CA travel. Can any of you relaye what electric coats are for your boats? It seems $200-250 is standard go berthing, but I hear electric is very high.
Hope the boat shopping goes well there. Seems like a good spot to spend time and refit. Lake Atitlan on the other side looks like heaven if you are a yoga, meditation person who maybe likes to party too.

Dont know current exact rates, but yes mark up on electrical is generally high at the marinas.
The Rio is a good base for inland travel, but its a long haul from there to the Western Highlands. Well worth the trip though, Guatemala is an amazing country.
Excellent site for info on Guatemala: http://www.mayaparaiso.com/

Yes- the Mayans catch and eat them quick-so they don't ever get bigger

Re: Sailing from Rio Dolce Guatemala to the Blue Hole Belize and Utila Honduras
Not many left except in the far W end of Lago Izabal. Humans have killed most of them off in other areas...though we did have a big one visit the Cayo Quemado area a few years ago...he got killed for his skin, teeth, skull...
Crocs in this region...not gators.
