Further East with very easy access to Long Island RR, a walk across Teddy Roosevelt park, is Oyster Bay Marine, which will rent you moorings for day, week season, which would include Launch service. I second the Oyster bay location, (my summer home port mooring CB-3) OBMC, or Sawanaka YC can accommodate
21 ft beam and 50 ft vessels, there are much larger transient vessels in there all summer. OBMC is closest to town and LIRR.

There is also the gateway marina south of the Verrazano on the Brooklyn side of things just as you enter the Horbor off the Atlantic, it is as far from Manhattan as oyster bay if your taking public transportation. This is a good place if you just want to tuck in off the Atlantic for a few, there is nothing going on locally there.

I stayed at Manhasset Bay Marina, 60' catamaran 29' beam, they are very accommodating however usually they are full, I stayed at their mooring one summer and that winter in a slip, that was about 9 years ago.
