Hitchhiking through Arabic Sea

Hi I'm Jakob from Germany.
I'm backpacking all over the world and never take a airplane. Iran is the first country with no exit in the Eastside. I now trying to get to the South coast of Iran, to Dubai or Oman. From one of those places I'm searching someone who is sailing to India. I know sailing very well and love to be on board. Is there someone who is sailing this area in the next three months? I know it's not a save region to sailing but I'll give it a try bcs there is no other way east without flying.

I really tried everything but it's not possible as a German guy to cross the border to Parkistan. If you apply for the Visa you need a letter from the german embassy and they won't give it to you bcs the region is to dangerous...
But does someone know if people sail in this area?

As far as I know, the Eastern border to Afghanistan from Iran is open. If problems all is solvable with a little bribe.

But Afghanistan is a dangerous place for Brits, Americans and Germans.

And about Afghanistan: it's really dangerous right now. I'm 20 and traveling alone and if Taliban doesn't kill me my parents will do it

But still: I'm asking for the crossing by boat. Is there Anybody who knows this region? Thank you!

Man - that's a dangerous attitude to have. I'd slow yourself down a little bit, and maybe realize you don't have a lucky star watching over you. Dumb luck is a dangerous thing to have, and worse, you can't tell it apart from your own savvy. You can have a great adventure, but don't push it stupid too far.

The point is growing old with the wisdom.

It is not just the Taliban. Most Afghanis resent people from the coalition countries, basically US, UK, Germany, France. Otherwise, Afghanis are very hospitable and nice people.

Crossing the Persian Gulf in a yacht will not be easy, but you might find some commercial vessel crossing to Qatar or Dubai. It is VERY HOT on the Iranian coast this time of the year. Also, tensions are building between the Saudis and Iran, and this can flare up any minute.

To be honest, I would just fly out!

I believe that you may be more successful buying passage on a commercial vessel rather than obtaining space on a yacht. First, there aren’t many ( if any at all ) yachts allowed into Iran, and the immigration authorities most likely wouldn’t allow additional crew to be added anyway. I hope that you’ll relate your experiences wandering through Persia here on the forum: one wonders if their society is as ’regimented as portrayed in the media. Good luck Jakob: your poor parents must be sick with worry.

Iran is very different from what you see in teh news.

It is actually a very nice country to travel in. My wife is from Iran, we have a flat in Tehran, and I spend maybe 4 months every year there.

Iran is safe, except for the traffic of course. People are very hospitable and there is so much to see. Travel is easy and cheap.
Train, plane, buses, all possibilities exist.

Winter is fantastic, with normally lots of snow, good skiing, especially off-piste. In summer the mountains are a good place to escape the heat. The North of the country is very green and humid.
