Cruising Seasons

Hello, I am looking for a resource for international cruising seasons- a map or chart that gives a rundown of what months are typical to sail from one place to another. Do you know of a website where I can find such a thing? Thanks!

Re: Cruising Seasons

Hey GordMay, thanks for the welcome and the suggestion! I actually have had that book checked out from the library, and it seems like a great resource for those planning the details of sailing in various parts of the world. I'm looking for something a little more overview style than what I found in that book- basically a way to ask, "if it's this month and I want to catch passage as crew, my best bets are to go here" (a calculated being in the right place at the right time)

Re: Cruising Seasons

Basically cruising passages occur at the start and end of cyclone or hurricane season in most cases. That means Nov for South bound from the West Coast or East Coast of the US and west bound from Europe.
Panama or Mexico to French Polynesia is Feb to May.
Tonga/Fiji/New Caledonia to New Zealand or Australia Iate Oct/Nov.
New Zealand to Tonga/Fiji/New Caledonia late April/May/early June

Hope this helps
