Re: Chesapeake bay Maryland

With your 5' draft, there are a ton of places for you to anchor.

The Va. part of the bay is more laid back than the Md. portion.(if that helps?)

There are hundreds of great anchorages. If you can give an idea of what you're looking for in terms of isolation versus access to stuff, that would be helpful.

Re: Chesapeake bay Maryland

A storm anchorage and a daily anchorage are really two different things in summer. In general, the real huricane holes are so well protected from the light summer breezes you'll die of heat stroke.

In general, the storm risk is lower farther up the Bay, but other than very near the mouth, it is all pretty low risk, with prudence.

Agreed. Everything is there from back creeks where you will seldom see anybody to middle of a big city.

Yes, you can go up St. George's Creek off the St. Mary's River and anchor up there or go up the St. Mary's for other spots to anchor.

June you should have some decent air still, after that its much lighter air in July/August and temp wise you will think you are still in Fla.

Not too bad in that area. Typically if there are no see ums it around dusk for an hour or so and w/your deeper draft you'll be further from shore and typically no mosquitoes. Walk around in the woods and there are mosquitoes and horseflies.
