XM Sirius Weather - for two boats?

We cruise aboard a powerboat and a sailboat, but obviously, not at the same time. We'd like to add marine weather to our Garmin instruments, but don't want to buy two receivers and pay for two subscriptions.

It would be more wiring and time than I feel comfortable with to set up for the receiver and install antenna mounts on both to switch antennas from boat to boat. We are also in a dead zone for marine services, but do cruise to places that have competent boat yards and marine electronics services.

I plan to purchase the least expensive multi-function display with internal GPS antenna that will work with XM marine weather. Then build a cabinet for a small display and add XM sirius antenna. The objective is a portable unit that only needs to plug in to a 12v cigarette lighter socket to be operational.

Anybody done this or have another approach?

(Presently looking at a WM-3 and Simard GO7 XSR. Still cheaper than two XM receivers and the wiring a bus to plug in a GMX-53.)
