there are actually 2 active storms on their way here--one named jova, spozed to hit pv in 5 days unless is a course change, and her conjoined twin, irwin will hit more south of pv, as last i saw...and the third one is still forming. will be a fun hurrycame high season....party on dock e...bring rum.

Re: Storm on the Way to Mexico - Anyone Know More ?
goood there are only 2 on this dock besides the port captain and some other federales..lol..... would be a great party as we watch the storm come in--hopefully avoiding us completely.....
puerto vallarta and points south are spozed to really rock n roll, tho---hope it isnt bad when it hits, and that it weakens fast. there are three forming storms, so, high season is going out with a bangpow...

Re: Storm on the Way to Mexico - Anyone Know More ?
A lot of uncertainty in the forecast discussions for both storms on the NHC website, but they show both of them headed for the coast south of PV at this time.

Re: Storm on the Way to Mexico - Anyone Know More ?
Some weather model trivia. Hope it's of interest...
PassageWeather.com takes the forecast from a single model, the GFS, and converts it to graphical format. The white line in the first image below is the primary GFS forecast, which would be the same as you see on PassageWeather.com. The pink lines are what the GFS forecasts when certain of the model inputs are tweaked. The scatter gives you some idea of the uncertainty. The image is from wunderground.com
The second and third images show the forecasts produced by a number of different models. Each has it's strengths and weaknesses. The folks at the NHC have to plow through all this and more to come up with their consensus forecast. Reading the forecast "Discussion" on the NHC's website is a great way to gain some understanding of tropical storm behavior.

Actually Stormpulse will show about eleven forecast models for a storm or hurricane - just toggle the forecast model switch on the right.
There is also the FNMOC site, satellite imagery and TC tracks - with a couple of models and the Navy forecast.
So is Zee on Dock E, Marina Mazatlan? Used to be called Gilligan's Island...

Re: Storm on the Way to Mexico - Anyone Know More ?
we just hoping is not strong when hitting us here in mazatlan--the protection here is limited to under cat 3...2 is scary enough.
i am onleper dock....gilligans island is a floater without trisities or water and still rents out for full pricing. schooner patricia belle used to charter out of my slip...i kayak around gilligans, but live on leper dock with the federales' boats and one other person, of scot descent with accent and all....
