Sirius vs xm weather

I know that the two companies have merged however they still use different satellites...... I am planning a small 3 month trip from fl to the exumas and scouring the internet for ways to get streaming radar like I do within cell range ....correct me if I'm wrong but from what I'm reading I believe sirius had a longer range and actually works with radar down to Georgetown where xm cuts off at the that they have merged it's difficult to figure out which plotter and antenna uses sirius vs with uses xm.....any help is appreciated
