Monsoon season

Has anyone been on a cruise to the top end of oz around January? Just wondering about the weather around that time and if it gets rough on the ships if it's raining..they say it's monsoon season

The Australian monsoon (the "Wet") occurs in the southern summer when the monsoon trough develops over Northern Australia. Over three-quarters of annual rainfall in Northern Australia falls during this time.
