Comms from Oriental is very spotty at the moment. Powehas been out since 10:30 last night and cell towers are probably out of backup
power by now. I have a report of
boats moored behind the bridge breaking loose and being
lost. River Dunes reported 95 mph but no
boat damage. Town
dock has not updated since 8:28, which was before the eye wall hit. The surge was only 4 inches from the Isabel level at that time. The back side of the eye wall is over the area at the moment, but that should blow the
water out. .... Town
Dock just updated, surge was 9.5 feet now down to 5.5 ft. Some afternoon thunderstorm. My boat is in River Dunes. Good luck to everyone with
boats in the path of this one. Forum rules prevent me from sharing my opinion on the intelligence of someone suggesting minimal preparation for this one.
