Indo To Brazil via South Africa

Hello

I am wondering if anyone can give me info on the passage from Indo to South Africa, seas and weather wise. The damn pirates cut off the Suez so it seems the only route left is via South Africa. It is much farther south than I've sailed and would like to gather as much info on the South African cape.

Could this be much worse than pushing into the Atlantic via Gibraltar?
