You can check the exact wording in the Community Rules. The moderators realize political decisions affect cruisers' travel decisions, but CF is not the place to try to solve the worlds' problems, better use other venues for political discussion.
This thread will be closed if it turns into political ranting.

There are lots of highly competent and hard working public servants in Australia but, ultimately, politicians are responsible for the health of their various departments.

Guilty as charged I won't make any further politically-minded posts, although I think the topic covered by this thread (officialdom and borders) is inherently political.

I agree that the topic is inherently political, it is just that CF, as a privately owned forum, limiting discussion of politics to things directly related to cruising. It's also international, so there's the question of how non-germane the Australian politics are to the Europeans or Americans, all the systems being somewhat different. Plus, we all agreed to follow the community rules.
Anyhow, THANK YOU AND EVERY ONE ELSE FOR YOUR COOPERATION.

Of some concern for Dale in his return, is going to be where to keep the boat, and this is against the background of the expanding corona virus outbreak in SE Qld.

Re: Fiji to Bundaberg September
haha...was ever thus
saw lady pamela recently at the clarence. first we were in yamba marina getting some work done and a big center consol RIB came in. later learnt that the chap on the RIB went into the marina office, said they were supposed to be self - isolating, and could somebody help with provisioning ? marine told him to F%^& off
later same day we saw Lady Pamela tied up to a wharf up the river near harwood bridge (fishing haven holiday park) where they stayed a couple of days before leaving for southport.
nice looking gin palace...and i'm sure anyone with the same influence / $$$s would be treated the same. it's democracy at work
cheers,

Re: Fiji to Bundaberg September
It gets worse:
A woman who lives on a farm was taken from Queensland to Sydney for a brain operation and when returned to Queensland was placed in hotel quarantine in Brisbane for two weeks in spite of the surgeon's advice that she should be in home quarantine on the farm.

I'm not sure exactly what concerns you most in this tale.
Is the bad people who forced her off the farm and took her to Sydney
or
the brain operation was carried out in Sydney when it should have been done in Qld
or
the brain operation was forced upon her
or
the surgeon's advice was poor and Qd recognised she would be better off in a hotel rather than on a farm
However regardless of whatever you concern is, I can't see the relevance of it to sailing, cruising or the thread title

Re: Fiji to Bundaberg September
Dale make sure you arrive by yacht. It looks like they are starting to put us plebs into jail.
Do you think you will sail home or leave the yacht in Fiji?
Cheers

Interesting story when one reads the details - assuming the media is sort of accurate in this instance.

Thanks mate, the last bit was a little more rushed than expected, but all good. When the world calms down I'll sail back here to Fiji, I like it.
