Bracing for the medicane!

Currently we are in Porto Heli, Greece getting ready for the medicane headed this way.
I have read many different forecasts, none seem to agree.
Today was light and variable wind all day and then at sundown started a little rain and lightning and some gusts around 25 knots.
Should be interesting tonight and tomorrow.

Bracing for the medicane!

There was one that hit last winter (well end of summer) and some boats in Cleopatra, Preveza were damaged. Nasty stuff.

Yep. This one is just as nasty. Monitored well here too. Brace and good luck!

Re: Bracing for the medicane!

Link to recent report. Looks nasty. Maybe the forum members could suggest names for this Medicane, since no official names are given.

"There can be widespread gusts of 95 km/h (60 mph) across coastal Crete into southwestern Turkey," Roys said. "Gusts to 130 and 145 km/h (80 and 90 mph) cannot be ruled out across the southern coast of Crete and the southwestern coast of Turkey."

"Seas this weekend can build to 3-5 meters (10-16 feet) south of Crete and the waters offshore of southwestern Turkey," Roys said. "Some of the highest seas can reach 7 meters (22 feet)."

Re: Bracing for the medicane!

The storms name is "Zorba", no kidding!

This morning we had 60 + knots with rain for a few minutes, total white out couldn't see anything (lucky)

Today the wind has been up and down between 25 and 45 knots.

Plenty of boats dragging and almost everyone has now left the key.

We have been at anchor since yesterday, just outside the key.

At least it is not Sharknado 9, that will be the ultimate Sharknado, at least until 10 arrives.

As I interpret the forecasts, tomorrow your area will calm down somewhat. Hope it will happen actually.
We were hidden until yesterday in Sivota, south Lefkas and did not experience anything dramatic.

Zorba! Well that means it dancing in the rain time. Zorba el Griego style.

Turn up the music and get out on deck.
