We'd love your feedback on our Second-Hand Boat Reviews...

At Rightboat we're very excited to have just joined the CF family and we just wanted to say Hi! to all the other CF members out there.

We have been writing second-hand boat reviews for a wide selection of popular boats and we'd love to take the opportunity to ask for your thoughts on whether these articles are helpful and interesting, here is a link to the articles Boat Buyers Guides at Rightboat.com if you have the time to have a look, we'd really love to know your thoughts.

We very much look forward to chatting with you!

Re: We'd love your feedback on our Second-Hand Boat Reviews...

Well, as a professional editor, I would point out that "1000's" is not, in fact, a possessive. The word "Thousands" is preferable, as starting a sentence with a number is typographically awkward, but if you must, it would be the plural "1000s".

You're welcome. I usually charge $75/hr. for this sort of thing!

Hi S/V Alchemy, many thanks for spotting our mistake on our signature banner and for letting us know, you'll be pleased to see that we've amended the banner but kept the 1000s.
All the best.

I think a good start

1) need more photos
2) content a bit too generic and vague
3) need more boats (but I do like the fact that you have not restricted selves to the mainstream boats)

No doubt the content will build up over time.

I would also like to see links to any owners groups and even a few personal websites / blogs.....apart from being a source of info they also help sell "the dream". (I appreciate that helping readers easily go to another website is considered heresy online - but serious buyers will be going elsewhere anyway via google, make it easy for them to do so and you become the first port of call ).

To speed content creation, how about writing a really good version for a boat (as an example) and then inviting owners of any boat to write a similar review for own boat - subject to you having the final edit, including melding reviews from multiple sources (plus gaining ownership of the content), plenty of folks online will do that for free, plenty more will do so for a free link.........

Oh, and an article on self surveying a boat would be useful.

Good start but I'd prefer more critical reviews ie. the brass throughulls/ball valves, terrible battery installations and wonky propane systems on European mainland boats.

Re: We'd love your feedback on our Second-Hand Boat Reviews...

I can see the need and use for it but the short time I spent looking, ran across it as glitchy. Selecting manufacturer and type was a problem and bounced back to its default. Since, I'm sure you want it to be International, perhaps a currency converter.
Lastly while trying to narrow my results, the page would not load.
PS...I'm running Firefox

I agree with all of the above. Don't know where you're trying to go with this, but as someone who is in the market for a used boat, I need much more detail before it would be useful to me.

I guess that you can chalk that up to being your baptism under fire. It can be kind of a tough crowd here at times. Any little mistake you write will likely be pointed out to you. There are some pretty astute people here & not much gets missed.

Welcome aboard.

My favourite (go to website) for boat info is this (UK) Broker:

Archive boat data from Yachtsnet Ltd. online UK yacht brokers - yacht brokerage and boat sales

Hallberg-Rassy 352 archive details - Yachtsnet Ltd. online UK yacht brokers - yacht brokerage and boat sales

I have watched the archive slowly grow over the last 6 or 7 years. Obviously layout very much on the Web 1.0 end of the spectrum, but IMO that works fine for this local / UK broker with no global ambitions (at least no global world domination ambitions!).
