TheBoatAPP - Boat Maintenance & Management App
Hello,
First of all, it is a pleasure to be part of the Cruisers Forum. We are Marine Data Cloud, an UK based company.
Our latest products seek to help all Boat, Sailboat and Yacht owners to better manage and maintain their vessel. We aspire to be the “Marine Data Cloud” provider, the single piece of data repository needed by mariners worldwide, being able to provide consolidated data management (e.g. logbook, inventory, maintenance, etc.) and, soon-to-come, systems monitoring (e.g. fuel/water sensors, etc.). In brief, mariners’ life, fully catalogued, organized and backed-up, accessible from anywhere on any device, online as well as offline.
We have already launched our App, TheBoatAPP, downloadable for both iOS and Android devices. Our mission is to provide a 360˚ seamless experience and unified access of users’ boating data via TheBoatAPP. More specifically, to provide to mariners’ data management of logbook, inventory, maintenance, documents, checklists and tasks; providing timely alerts and meaningful reports.
TheBoatAPP is powered by TheBoatDB, the centralized database of all user data; including additionally technical boat data and metrics, ratios and even more boat comparisons. We provide useful information about all sort of boats, sailboats and yachts. Reviews, metrics and more. Users can freely search any boat, benchmark them and compare them with any other boat in the database.
Feel free to try our App or search for your favorite boat in TheBoatDB.

Well, it's very attractive. And has stuff all of us need to some degree.
And this is the right place to attract users!
Good luck.

Re: TheBoatAPP - Boat Maintenance & Management App
@Dicovery 15797 I bet after 20+ years in SW business you've sen more than enough of technology, maybe this is why you fled to boats! Indeed, the endeavour is more that substantial and the 1st version went live at end-2019. I would really appreciate you talking a look at www.TheBoatApp.com and passing along your comments. The target market? Is recreational boating. This includes charterers, skippers, captains, marina staff, marine professionals (technicians/mechanics), etc. If you see the functionalities, there is a bit of value added for all of them (e.g. task assignment to technicians, document sharing, alerts, etc). For the full details, have a look at our Tutorials page.
We are now initiating Phase-2 (DB restructuring, Push notifications, Checklists on mobile apps, etc), planning Phase-3 for the 2nd half of the year (NMEA/Signal-K sensors integration) and already have a 3 years development roadmap ahead.
You mentioned customization, where the "...users can pick and choose the data they want to collect, track, and analyze...". We already have a dashboard and it is in our roadmap to be able to provide customization for the users to be able to select needed info.
Regarding data input depth (i.e. details entered) it is up to the user to fulfill all fields (cost, expiration, alert, etc) or just a couple of them (e.g. the part name and number only).
Regarding Radio Log, it is already included in the logbook as an individual category of log-entries. As is Weather Logs too.
To build a " Mouse Trap"?! Absolutely not! Both myself and the whole team (over a dozen of professionals) have respect for the users. The deal is transparent with the user getting a free service and ability to export his data at any point (CSV, Excel, PDF). We target to be able in a few years to pride ourselves for an open and interconnected platform for all fellow sailors and the recreational marine industry (our Open-API is under development and expected during Q2). Especially with support and feedback from experienced and knowledgable fellows of CF, like yourself, we shall get there!

Hosting provider firewall issue. Expecting the expert engineer to intervene in a few hours. Don't we all love technology, especially when something breaks?!
