The ease of installation and reasonable cost appeals to me. Having a tall mast, any lightening I can see in the distance is worrisome. I was once diving in the Caribbean and the skies looked fine when I dove down. Upon reaching the boat after resurfacing, the weather had changed dramatically. The dive boat operator said "get up on the boat quickly, you have a lightening rod strapped to your back!" Aye yay yay.
