Re: OCEANPLANET ENERGY GIVEAWAY - ends Oct 12

We’ve lost three alternators while cruising. Replacements are always standard grade vehicle equipment available in Caribbean islands. None stand up to charging large banks even with de-rating the external charge controller.

I have plans to convert my catamaran to an more unusual hybrid with 2 electric saildrives and one diesel saildrive, with high power alternators.
The Oceanplanet solution looks very appealing.

Re: OCEANPLANET ENERGY GIVEAWAY - ends Oct 12

I could use 2 or 3 Firefly G31 batteries. I'm not ready to step up to lithiums and these seem to be the best lead batteries - apparently even better than the Sonnenscheins I have been using.

Here is my list. It's all Solar Accessories as I am going to swap my boat's panels to my truck camper and will need a full compliment of connectors, wire, deck seals, etc. Then I will need t replace my boat panels with "walk-ons"!

Thank you OceanPlanet!

Sterling 12v to 12v charger would be a nice addition. Already own one of their AC chargers. Great chargers. Would make a nice addition to charge my start bank and be able to use different battery chemistries.

Re: OCEANPLANET ENERGY GIVEAWAY - ends Oct 12

Hi all,

This web site has given me lots of info as my panel gave up the ghost this summer. Would love to have any of the following to replace:

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...X7NO78oCM/edit

SR54 54W I don't cruise yet so this would be perfect for day sails

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...X7NO78oCM/edit

SR62 62W This would also work, just a little more power

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...X7NO78oCM/edit

SR+78 78W Very interesting idea that you can install and sew through onto canvas. Would provide all the power I need at this time.

https://oceanplanetenergy.com/solar-...-solar-panels/

SP47LAiO 47W All in one, great idea, would help the install for sure.

Thx to Oceanplanet for the opportunity.

Looking to take existing AGM batteries (with no current solar charging), to a Lithium battery setup with solar charging system. I haven't seen the OceanPlanet Energy website before, but like the tools and offerings.

Would need to confirm overall system, but the linked Lithium battery looks to have latest technology and large aH - so very attractive.

The Lithionics GT12V600-F24. 600Ah Lithium battery.

I am dying to try out lithium batteries and these specs are what dreams are made of.... I've been using solar for 10 years and haven't touched shore power or started my engine except for propulsion in that time. 12v life!!!
