So, not looking to benefit from the current giveaway by Brunton's Propellers.
Instead looking to promote their product.

When purchasing a new (to me) sailboat in 2017 in San Diego, I could not help noticing the very odd looking propeller on the boat during the inspection haul out. My first thought was to investigate and possibly replace it when re-launching the boat in Port Townsend. I found just one other such prop on another boat in the yard in PT, I would guess there were over 100 boats on the hard doing or getting work done. So I talked with the other boat owner about his propeller, explaining that I was the only other boat in the yard with the same prop. He convinced me to try it out for a while before making any decisions, which seemed to be good advice. It's 4-years later and it was very good advice.

The boat is a Mason 44 Sailboat powered by a 65 HP engine, she weighs in at about 32K lbs. she's fitted with just a single throttle lever that controls the transmission as well power and has a shaft break when in neutral. Forward and reverse as usual, just push or pull harder for more power. NO MORE grabbing the wrong lever at the wrong time ! I have pushed engine RPM to 2800 and can get up to 9 knots over the bottom in no current. Very surprising to me. We usually motor at 1800 RPM and do about 7 knots all day long.
It took very little time to get a good feel for the boat in tight quarters of a marina but with just one control lever there is no anxious moments when I hit power instead of neutral or reverse. We have good power in forward and reverse, prop walk seems to be much less than our previous 36 ft. sailboat which had the same hull underbody and rudder set up with a window for the prop. The only negative that comes to mind.... finding a chandlery in the Seattle area that carries the specialized Zinc's for the prop. Not really a negative as one just needs to plan ahead and buy several at time through an east coast chandlery.

We just purchased our first boat ever, a 2002 Catana 471, that needs A LOT of work to restore to working order again, including prop replacements. She currently had regular 3-blade props, which in our view has little sense on a catamaran that leans more toward the performance side of the spectrum. It would be an Auto prop for Adams 40, I’m not worried about the fuel savings buy would enjoy the extra speed under sail
