1978 Tayana Cutter 37- Price reduction $48,000

The Tayana 37 is a boat designed for tropical sunsets in exotic locations and is one of the most popular off shore cruising vessels of all time.
Her beautiful custom interior, wrapped into traditional double-ender hull with a full keel has been constructed of the finest materials, using the best techniques to ensure that there is no better yacht in her size range on the market.

With care and proper maintenance she will not only prove to be an excellent investment, she will take you cruising anywhere in the world safely and comfortably. This is being proven almost daily. Ocean crossings by Tayana 37 are routine. Circumnavigations have been reported and over 500 of these yachts are the primary homes of their owners.

Lorna doone has recently had her rig inspected and all the spreaders ad chainplates replaced and rebedded. The engines transmission was rebuilt recently, and has a new cutlass bearing and starter battery. She is fully equipped with an extensive amount of tools and spares.

Re: 1978 Tayana Cutter 37- Price reduction $48,000

Being this is 1978 build, will there be an issue getting insurance?

Is there a current survey available?

Is there an estimate available for delivery to the Puget Sound?

Re: 1978 Tayana Cutter 37- Price reduction $48,000

The LOA was already listed in the original post. How would the seller know if anyone else would have an insurance issue? Current survey or no survey, it may not be made available to a buyer, and not likely before a deposit and offer is accepted. For this kind of boat, getting your own survey is advisable. A buyer may have trouble getting in and out of the BVI's these days. And if you want an estimate for delivery to Puget Sound, it may not even be wise to consider a boat currently in Tortola. What's the difference whether it costs $10,000 or $50,00--which it could? You'll never get the money out of that--ever! Think about what is involved whether sailed, or put on a ship or a combination of that and maybe even trucking--it will possibly cost as much as the boat will cost. But if you put that much cash into upgrading a boat--that is a worthy investment. For what it will cost to move it to the US west coast, just go and live on it for two years!

I owned and lived on my 1981 for 6 years. Very seaworthy and solidly built boat. Not the fastest but very comfortable. Bob Perry did a very nice job designing this model. Enjoy the life while you can and you will meet the nicest people all over the world, I did.

No problem getting liability only insurance. You really don't need anything else. If you put scared money into buying a boat, then you can't afford to buy a boat.

I ask for slip rental prices at a new marina just built in Marina Del Rey, Ca., and they said they are not accepting any rentals for boats older than 1986.

All that writing and no price lol. Also the stated LOA is on deck. Overall length is closer to 42’ (sprit) and looks like another 3-4’ with the davit/arch off the back. We hang over in a 40’ slip (no davits).
