Your vessel seems to be in every way well founded.
The only thing that we have on Hekowi that might be a small improvement is that our dodger
is hand built of Starboard and Lexan
. It is nearly identical in dimensions to yours, (as must be the case per the boom). But we have also gone with 5 windows. Our dodger
is not leak proof, as a bow dive will result in some leak thru, but it is strong enough to stand on, and we have mounted a solar
panel on a single
curve planar top piece. There are also some hand grabs.
By building it myself, I was able to reassure myself of the sight lines, When I stand behind the wheel
, I can see over the dodger, see the bow, and see the water
directly ahead. The fold out bimini
has a 6 inch gap, which allows a clear vision horizon. When I sit, I can see thru the lexan
, I can still see the bow, but obviously not the water
I ran a sailing club for many years, and the CT 47 center cockpit ketch
is one heck of a vessel.
Just loved the aft platform! Now you have a CT49!
