Your vessel seems to be in every way well founded.
The only thing that we have on Hekowi that might be a small improvement is that our
dodger is hand built of Starboard and
Lexan. It is nearly identical in dimensions to yours, (as must be the case per the boom). But we have also gone with 5 windows. Our
dodger is not leak proof, as a bow dive will result in some leak thru, but it is strong enough to stand on, and we have mounted a
solar panel on a
single curve planar top piece. There are also some hand grabs.
By building it myself, I was able to reassure myself of the sight lines, When I stand behind the
wheel, I can see over the dodger, see the bow, and see the
water directly ahead. The fold out
bimini has a 6 inch gap, which allows a clear vision horizon. When I sit, I can see thru the
lexan, I can still see the bow, but obviously not the
water close ahead.
I ran a sailing club for many years, and the CT 47
center cockpit ketch is one heck of a vessel.
Just loved the aft platform! Now you have a CT49!
