I bought a Xantrex RS 2000 pure sine charger/inverter in 2008 and left it boxed and dry until I did a full refit
. I finally installed it with a six L-16 FLA battery
bank (1,575 Ah) last summer. Worked a charm, but the SCP has "lost" contact with the charger
, and reports "Standby"...this is despite receiving power from the unit (where the network light is off) and despite new cabling, etc. So I suspect the Xanbus portion is dead. I've done every form of hard reset, no dice.
As it's out of warranty, and short of opening it up to find a loose connector or other end-user-fixable, obvious repair, what is the present preference for charger
? I am not happy at the prosepct of trashing a functional, if unconfigurable, charger/inverter, but my solar/wind and alternators setup allow off-dock equalization
, and I'm not going to forego that.
Needless to say, Xantrex is off the list, which is a shame as it worked flawlessly...just for six months.
