Xantrex Echo ground question

I'm looking to install an Echo to maintain charge at my Genset Starter battery. The instructions say to connect the ground to "ground". I believe the Genset ground is separate from the house battery ground (will verify this weekend). If so, which ground (at the battery neg) does it get connected to, House or Starter?

Thanks for the help,

Steve in Solomons MD

Re: Xantrex Echo ground question

House.

And, I'd be very surprised if your genset ground is separate from (not connected to) your boat's DC ground, like the house batteries.
