Wiring a new electrical distribution panel

I have a new electrical panel and have a wiring question. My new panel has both ac and dc, and I plan to use a common ground bus bar for both ac and dc, and a bus bar for all of the white wires. My question is where to attach the incoming white and black from the inverter.*

The white wire should attach to the top breaker opposite the current wire. The black wire should attach to the second breaker down, opposite of the current wire.*

The black wire from*the*outlets or devices will attach to the right side of the breaker in the picture, opposite of the copper bar, the white to the neutral bus bar, and the green to the ground bus bar.*

For now, there isn't any shore power, so it's just the inverter connection. I am including some photos of the panel, and how I believe is the correct way to wire. Thanks in advance for the help.*

Better to have all the DC negatives/grounds on their own bus, and the AC green/grounds likewise on their own bus.
Then just have one wire to connect the two.
This will save amazing amounts of head-scratching should you need to track down some recalcitrant electrons that have started running amuck.

Re: Wiring a new electrical distribution panel

There would be three, theoretical power sources....

1) Shore Power
2) Generator
3) Inverter

Do you still have a generator?

Are you removing shore power?

I would install a 3-way source panel.

240 Volt:

120Volt:

Re: Wiring a new electrical distribution panel

There is no shore power or generator currently, and I just want to switch the panel in a simple operation at the moment, and not add anything extra.

It's a very specific question about how to wire the panel I have.

Thanks.

Thanks, I will do that. What gauge wire would I need for the connection?

My mind rests easier with 10 or 12ga. but I don't like small wires for anything.

OP:
Install two neutral busses: one for shore power and one for the inverter/charger. Treat the inverter output like a sub-panel. This will eliminate problems when you plug into an upgrade pedestal with a 30mA RCD.
