Wind Generator Windings
I have a 1995 Vintage Southwest Windpower Wind Generator that is not working…before I dump this one and buy a new one I want to understand a few things. First, there are 4 wires coming off the windings..Black, White, Yellow and Green. All four wires have a dead short between them.. is this normal ?

Secondly, The slip rings appear to have just two poles ? There is a red, black and green wire coming out of the unit to supply power however the Black and
green wires come from the same common slip ring ? Don't understand this ?

Any comments would help. I can post or send photos if necessary.
