I only deal with microwatts per nanosecond.

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

That's something else.... In 15 knts wind I have about 10 Amps with my KISS.

And by the way, no regulator on windgenor you'll lose a huge percentage pf the charge. Wind tend to come in gusts, perhaps not so in a strong trade, but as someone else mentioned, most try and avoid exposed trade wind anchorages...

Re: Wind generator?

I believe that many of the complaints about wind gens not performing up to advertised specs are due to folks relying upon their masthead anemometers to measure the wind speed, whilst their gennies are only 10-15 feet above the water. There is considerable wind shear in most places, and the wind 50-70 feet up is a lot stronger than at 15 ft height... hence t he apparent poor performance.

I tried that for a while, but when I realized it would take me three lifetimes to get a decent sample rate I switched over to yoctoamps per fortnight but the UK conversion factor was too unsteady.

Re: Wind generator?

had my air x chinese cheap knockoff on my thai cedar mizzen masthead, and patricia decided that i needed the full 200 mph winds with gusting to 250, so my mizzen became slightly cracked for a few feet. oops. the wind machine decided also to drown and sever connectivity, so i dont know what the exact cause of death was. before that hongree witch, it worked quite nicely for topping off batteries here in sunny windville.
