Which Battery Terminal Type?

Hi:

I am working on a new house battery system, including the batteries, fuses, boxes, cabling etc.

There seems to be about a dozen possible terminal types. Given a choice, is there any particular reason to choose or reject any particular type?

A particular concern for me is height, if this matters. I'd like to squeeze in 4 GC2s but the height is getting difficult at about 11 1/2 to 11 7/8" depending on the particular make. Next choice would be 4 Group 31s at about an inch shorter, so height not critical here.

I like #6, Trojan’s Type “DT”, Post & Stud.

Post and stud terminals may give you flexibility, but I would only use the stud.

Hi Guys:

Thanks for the thoughts.

Stud was kind of my thinking too, not knowing anything. Just want a big fat main cable, a small sense cable, and perhaps a bilge pump circuit directly at the battery, everything else to happen down the line.

The post is nice for testing with a meter (and jumper cables)
