Warm battery

Two batteries #1 cool #2 warm
Conditions. Solar charger. Output of solar panels unknown. EST size 18x36in. 20 yrs +old. Flexcharger regulator, 20+yrs old. All have been working ok. Batt for house loan only. No starting lode.
Voltage at solar charger “out to date 12.8v
Voltage at batt 1+2 14.9v at ea batt.
Batt #1 cool to the touch.
Batt #2 warm to the touch
Water in both batt ok
Presume that batt#2 is faulty and should be replaced.
Comments ??

Yes, should be replaced, it will heat up more and more with time.

I have noticed this with one of my batteries as well, 3mo old AGM, it sits on a charger 24/7 while at dock.

Quick check is to feel along the side of the battery. If one cell has gone, that area will be at a higher temperature than the rest.
