Waeco Compresser Cooler

good day all
i just bought myself one of those waeco compresser style coolers must say expensive but mighty nice. mine is the dc version but for another $100 i can buy an ac - dc convertor. thought to myself i have a new charger on the boat when im connected to shore power when away im on dc anyways what would be the advantage to having the convertor?

Pre-freeze contents of cooler at home, then transfer to the boat? I guess it would let you cast off sooner.
