Volvo tachometer black LCD?

Mornin'
One of my two (new to me) tachometer LCD's is 100% black when powered up. Any ideas? The rev counter works fine.

One of them still works. You are very lucky! I think I've replaced 4 or 5 of mine over 11 years. Don't know why it happens, it just does.

Eventually I found that they are made by VDO and I was then able to get replacements at a fraction of the price Volvo wanted. Let me know if you need details.
