Re: Victron Energy 120a Combiner

Victron makes great products.

That line is an exception.

Blue Sea ACR is best.

Or Echo Charger can be enough, lay out your design & use case, ampacity required between circuits, 1- or 2- way. . .

The 120A Blue Sea 7610SI ACR has beefy 3/8" posts that are plated to minimize corrosion. The Victron uses small M6 (less than 1/4") bare brass studs that are awkward at best to wire or work on. The robust studs on the Blue Sea ACR mean you can use the same gauge wire as the batteries are wired with and share the main or main and start bank fuses, if equipped, saving money on fusing.

The ACR is also fully epoxy potted/sealed, offers start isolation to eliminate brown-outs/transients on the house bank, has a remote LED option and four holes for robust mounting as opposed to a single plastic tab with a hole in it. The Blue Sea snap-closed cover also acts as terminal insulators so no additional "terminal caps" are required.

Re: Victron Energy 120a Combiner

I have had this unit on two of my boats, including current boat. Be aware it is not a battery isolator. But it will protect and separate your starting battery from house battery when they drop to 12.2 volts.
