Victron BPP Wrong voltage

Hello,

I have a Victron Blue Power Panel and a V.E.Net Battery controller on the house bank for a year now.

I have a Morningstar TS-60 MPPT solar charge controller connected to the House bank. I have the Morningstar remote meter connected to show the voltage of the house bank and the amps coming in.

Both were connected on the same day the new system was energised !

Things have been working flawlessly for a year. Both the MorningStar and BPP have shown the identical voltage of the house bank.

NOW (after about 17 months)... The BPP is showing a reading of 2 volts lower.

The Morningstar voltage and a multi-tester check, show the Morningstar is correct.

The connections are all good and shiny at the bus bars.

Why would the BPP have a reading 2v lower difference ?

Could the V.E.Net Battery Controller cause this ? It seems odd !!!

My clamp on amp tester confirms the BPP is displaying correct amp readings, and in sync with the Morningstar display when everything else is off.

Re: Victron BPP Wrong voltage

Here is a picture showing the voltage of the Morningstar that is accurate, and the Victron BPP voltage. The charging amps of the BPP is exact !

Things are a bit dusty as we have taken off all the old varnish from the teak in the V-birth and get ready to make it fresh and new again !!

Re: Victron BPP Wrong voltage

Hello,

I replaced the CAT5 cable. a bit of an improvement.

I am waiting for a new 500Ah shunt... although the shunt still looks brand new. That is the next low cost item to replace.

I did re-tin all wires to the controller (controller internal terminals are a mirror finish). used 180 grit sandpaper to assure complete connectivity before tightening down on the re-tined wires, but still the voltages do not match 100%

At this time my Fluke Meter to the batteries, and Morningstar Solar MPPT-60 Monitor are spot on, but the Victron BPP are in no way a 100% match to the BPP.

Will Keep you updated !
