Victron BMS 12/200 doesn't seem working.

Hey guys, I wonder if anyone here has experience with Victron BMS 12/200 that can give me some guidance.

I am trying to hook up the BMS 12/200 with a single Victron Lithium battery.

In the image, the two thick black and red wires connect to battery terminals. The thin white and red wires are from shore power transformer. The two red wires are connected, and the thin white wire goes to BMS load minus post. Voltage between battery terminals measures 13.1V, and voltage from transformer is 13.6V. I would expect the charging indicator LED of BMS to come on, but it stays off.

Any suggestion on what to check? Thank you.

The sellers of this sort of Victron gear should offer good hand-holding support, assuming you bought new and paid retail.

Unless you picked it up off eBay or someplace, in which case

Justin Larrabee at Victron USA may be helpful if someone with BMS experience doesn't come along within a day or two.

Thanks, John. After looking at the sample wiring diagram on Victron website a bit more closely, I think there should be a small gauge wire connecting battery + and the smaller terminal on BMS next to remote switch. I have thought that wire is just for remote switching. But now thinking about it, it probably supplies power to the circuit in BMS. I will try that and report back.

Hmm, after connecting battery + with the terminal on BMS, the charger and the solar controller say they are charging, but the "charge" LED on BMS never comes on. Is there a voltage threshold above which the charge light will comes on?
