Updated Trojan Charge Voltages

I noticed a discrepancy in the recommended charge voltages between two pages during a recent visit to the Trojan Website. I contacted trojan about the discrepancy and was informed that they have new values.

The new voltages for FLA batteries (12 volt) are 13.5 for float and 16.2 for equalization. The bulk/absorption voltages have remained the same at 14.8

See tables 2 and 3 for the new recommended voltages:

Re: Updated Trojan Charge Voltages

I just recently noticed this and reprogrammed my Morningstar solar controller with the increased voltage set points.

I also noticed Trojan modified their battery user guide, now dated 2016_0822, to call out a finish charge of 16.2 volts for a FLA battery 12 volt system. My interpretation of the FLA battery charging profile, diagram 4, is that Trojan now recommends you drive the battery voltage to 16.2 volts after absorption and before float.

Is anybody charging to the finish voltage as depicted in the charging profile?

No... finish charge should be used in day to day. Only the given bulk, absorb, and float.
