Time for Batteries

Bill's comment is on the money. Our gel batteries lasted 15 years. I suggest you check everything else before you spend money on batts you may not need.
Remember, that no matter how big yor batts are, what goes out must be put back in.

...it seems that you'll have more a lot more solar than a battery bank that size merits. I've got 260 watts of solar charging a 420 Ah bank, and most days the charge controller is cutting off the panels by about noon because there's nowhere else to store the energy.

I only had (2) 85 watt panels. Was going to add just one more, but then I found a place selling 120s for dirt. And I had to get 2 just for symmetry.

And I'm upping the bank to 555 Ah too.
