Super Simple AC System for my trailor Sailior

So... Im finishing up the complete refit and refurb of my 1969 Venture (Macgregor) 21... Im installing a super low tech, yet safe, dc system... My question is what can I do to facilitate dockside movie watching on the laptop and recharge of my battery when im at those not too distant marinas for the night? I was thinking extension cord with a gfi on the vessel side... Crazy?

Not crazy, but not very safe. Install a real marine battery charger with proper shore power connection. It doesn't need to be that expensive.

Boat: Still have the 33yo Jon boat. But now a CATAMARAN. Nice little 18' Bay Cat.

I guess a "real" system would be best but those plugs and sockets take up a lot of space. I don't know how small some of the chargers are either. I had a 18' boat and that install would take an awful lot of what little space there was.

I would go like you said and pretend I was using a power tool or a vacuum cleaner for a while - or something. People do that extension cord thing all the time. Without the the GFI.
