Solar Vent Mod

I am in Alaska and in the winter there is not a lot of sunlight. I have a Nicro solar vent and I am wondering about a possible hard wired charging/powering modification. The battery is 4.8 volt and I was thinking that a usb connection might work. Has anyone done anything like this? I would even consider doing away with the battery and just power the vent with a hard wired connection.

Re: Solar Vent Mod

I took mine apart and screwed 12V computer fans in.
They cost almost nothing.

They are designed to run continously with minimum power consumption.
Indirect solar now [emoji3] as I have big solar panels and the fans are wired to the house bank...

The fans are fine and run already 1.5years non-stop.
