solar charge controllers and trickle charger compatibility

I have lead acid batteries. I have solar cells and a solar charge controller (MPPT) to manage the solar cells and my batteries. I also want to add a trickle charger for my batteries so when I am connected to shore power (on a cloudy day) I can keep my batteries topped off. Are these systems compatible with each other? Or will the trickle charger, connected to shore power, somehow feed back and damage my solar charge controller?

they are both fine. lots of boats have both. note that a "trickle charger" likly will not be enough to keep your batteries up if you have a fridge running or other loads. you'd want something bigger like 10-20a
