Roll batteries and charger

I have two 6 volt roll batteries in this columbia 34. Back in Feb when I accepted this donation the batteries worked great. Stuck it at Richmond with the shore power plugged in and that is were it stayed until we towed it up on the trailer last week.

The roll batteries are at 3.8 and 4.1 volts. Its a McCarron VMI 12202 charger.

I am trying to understand what is going on ...... Is it my understanding that the batteries need to be used basically and not sit there and be charged constantly? Any one got a manual for this charger they could share with me? How do I go about getting these batteries back in shape.

Re: Roll batteries and charger

Well the batteries were thirsty. 3 gallons of distilled water and they are filled back up. Using an automotive battery charger on AGM/gell at 2 amps to see if I can get them back up.

fingers crossed
