Re: RENOGY Flexible Solar Panels

For long term use, are flexible panels better than rigid panels? If the rigids can be accommodated are they still the better way to go?

Re: RENOGY Flexible Solar Panels

My opinion would be rigid are better long term. We went with flexible because a 100W panel weighs 3.3 pounds, and we can just Sikaflex them to our deck and walk on them.

Long term rigid panels will outlast flex panels by many years. You just have to trade off the additional mounting cost, weight and windage of ridgid panels.

Instead, I ordered them Teknikhamstern in Sweden.
Am I correct we're talking $320 US per 50w panel?

Re: RENOGY Flexible Solar Panels

I just checked the Teknikhamstern website, the 50 watt T50f is 279 Euros each, the T100f is 429 Euros. There are different options, these are the most expensive. They are the "tough" nonskid walk on panels, with no junction box. You can get them cheaper if you want the junction box or if you're not going to walk on them.

RENOGY Flexible Solar Panels

I also want to say that Teknikhamstern was a pleasure to do business with. No, I have no interest in them other than being a very satisfied customer. If you have questions for them, PM me and I can give you the guy I dealt with his email address. He was really great to do business with.[ATTACH]143655

Looks good, but why not provide a "buy here" link.

Are we supposed to call them and speak to a human? How 20th century. . .

The Sunpower flex panels look good. Much better than buying the direct from China ones with Sunpower cells. They seem to be reasonably priced. The Buy link you pointed out just takes you to an email to request a distributor.
