I bought a complete set up , solar panels and controllers, but my installer said it[controller] would not work on my boat so I had to go to another controller.
Not sure if that was correct but I didn't take the chance .

Which Renogy controller are you referring to? there are at least 3 different series of Renogy MPPT controllers.

I am not on my boat so I don't remember the model. I bought 2 100 watt panel from the as a package and the controller was for those panels

If that controller is free with your panels, then go for it. Otherwise its a pretty old MPPT controller. The Actual manufacturer is EPSolar and that model is 2 generations back from current and the current 20amp model is this one:

Tracer eSeries 20amp MPPT

and for the same money or less.

any update on these renogy MPPTs, looking at the Rover 30 LI Mppt, https://www.renogy.com/rover-li-30-a...ge-controller/


Has a lot of the modern features including blue tooth for monitoring and programing. Wondering if they have upgraded their technology beyond what is stated above. One thing I notice is they dont have a second bank trickle charger like the blue sky units for charging the start bank.
