Question on Shorepower/Inverter & AC Outlets

What I would do:

I assume your battery charger is 240V also, and all other appliances 240V?

Leave the boat at 240V so your wiring is fine. Sell the inverter and replace with a 240V unit. Add 30A or 50A/120V US shore power plug to boat. In the boat, connect shore power to isolation transformer to convert to 240V to feed to your main breakers in the boat. That can be in parallel with a European 240V power inlet for use where 240V is available.

Don't mix 120V and 240V on the same boat, beyond the isolation transformer, unless necessary. Too much room for errors by you or the next owner.

You are getting some excellent cautionary advice. Swapping inverters alone and “disabling “ ...who know what’s going on...but usually it is complex as several have pointed out and generally it’s best to put in a whole new system. I think it’s always a good idea to learn as much as possible about your boat. Lots of great books on marine electrical systems. It’s not extremely difficult to learn but pay an expert to review your plans and your work before you plug anything together.
Follow every rule. Buy the best equipment and tools. Have a qualified person check your work. Take your time, check everything twice. Smoke alarms. Fire extinguishers. The more you learn, the safer you will be...especially at sea.
