You are getting some excellent cautionary
advice. Swapping inverters alone and “disabling “ ...who know what’s going on...but usually it is complex as several have pointed out and generally it’s best to put in a whole new system. I think it’s always a good idea to learn as much as possible about your boat. Lots of great
books on
marine electrical systems. It’s not extremely difficult to learn but pay an expert to review your plans and your
work before you
plug anything together.
Follow every
rule. Buy the best
equipment and tools. Have a qualified person check your
work. Take your time, check everything twice. Smoke alarms. Fire extinguishers. The more you learn, the safer you will be...especially at sea.
