Mars Climate Orbiter was lost because of confusion over measurement standards.
Kind of important that everyone knows what everyone else means.
Tomayto tomahto doesn't matter a damn.

Pardon my hijacking of the thread, but could you explain how you hooked this up. And why is it saving the power? Is the fridge not as cold?

Re: Please critique my solar plans

Well just as an update, to post that I am just about finished with my solar.

Here is an update on the mounting, which was a specific thread.

http://www.cruisersforum.com/forums/...-156335-4.html

But also, here is a pic of the controller, outputting 200 watts from a 280 watt panel. I have 2 of these, only 1 installed right now, the other in a week or 2. This was in pretty bright sun, but for my needs, if I could get 50AH a day into the boat, I can go a week or more without recharging, and if I can get 100AH, I could go forever...;-)

I don't see the pic.

What brand of controller did you go with?

Very cool!

Hope you like it! I was impressed with the gold plated connectors, I haven't seen that feature on any other brand, regardless of price, much less a budget one like that.
