Perkins 135M alternator excitation diode/bulb?
Hi,

Can anyone please confirm whether the red, screw in, charge warning lamp on a 1990 vintage Perkins Sabre 135M main engine control panel incorporates an alternator excitation diode or not?

I'm being told by our boat yard that having checked the alternator that a faulty bulb/diode is the cause of our battery charging problems. However, I'm rather skeptical, as I can find no mention anywhere that the lamp incorporates a diode.
